THE POSITION:

We are seeking honest and dynamic Internet Sales and Service/Business Development Representatives to manage customer leads for vehicles and drive customers to our world-class brand locations throughout Michigan. You will be trained in our lead management/sales and service approach to create a wonderful experience for our customers as you help them get connected with our sales and service team to provide them with excellent customer service.

You will be responsible for receiving and responding to web based electronic inquiries (leads), working with our existing customer data base, incoming sales and service phone calls that result from prospects and customers visiting the dealership website, associated web sites and other lead sources. The Internet Sales & Service/Business Development Representative will be evaluated based on performance standards that measure how many leads were converted to showroom visits and how many of those showroom visits resulted in a sale or service completion. You will utilize and/or learn both traditional and Internet-specific automotive sales and service processes.

 Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training.

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.

  • Execute customer communications via email, telephone, and text, in line with standards and processes.
  • Set dealership appointments, achieve lead-to-Dealership conversion and sell products based on department standards.
  • Enter all prospect communications, notes, records, and customer appointment data into the CRM.
  • Maintain tracking boards showing Internet sales updated each day of the month.
  • Prepare reports showing appointments scheduled, customer appointments kept, and customer sales based on leads received.
  • Attend regular sales meetings for both the dealership and the eSales department.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

  • Keep service vehicles clean as directed by management.
  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including the trunks and glove compartments.
  • Wash service customer vehicles using cleaning solution, water, cloths, and brushes.
  • Clean engine to remove grease and other materials.
  • Apply special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, following recommendations of the product’s manufacturer.
  • Assist technicians with keeping the service department clean and organized.
  • Assist with property maintenance and appearance.
  • Greet customers immediately in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Complete all training as directed by supervisor.
  • Police grounds of the dealership.
  • Wear company approved uniform.
  • Parking vehicles from service.
  • Empty trash.
  • Drive shuttle.
  • Complete OSHA right-to-know training.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Requires the ability to lift 40 pounds of material.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle repair facility.

  • Suggests optional equipment for customers to purchase.
  • Research availability of models and optional equipment.
  • Consults with Sales Manager when necessary; never allowing a customer to leave without first consulting with a sales Manager.
  • Works with the Sales Manager to compute and quote sales price, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and discount, and requirements for financing payment of vehicle on credit.
  • Prepares all related paperwork and applications (e.g., sales slip, credit application, etc.).
  • Delivers new vehicle to customer. This process ensures that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork, and it lays the foundation for customer loyalty.
  • Maintains a prospect development system.
  • Remains knowledgeable of new products, features, accessories, etc.
  • Attends sales meetings and training sessions (at various locations) as scheduled.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures.
  • Meets, or exceeds, written forecast and projected sales numbers.
